Cory Makes Movies Right – Pacific Rim

Cory Makes Movies Right – Pacific Rim

Don’t get me wrong, Pacific Rim was a perfectly fun movie, but the whole time I was watching I kept thinking there’s an easier way for them to kill these big Kaiju. Just in case giant monsters ever do attack, we have a battle plan right here.

This is based on a sketch series I created a while back called called Cory Makes Movies Right. They were a lot of work. Made a theme song for them and everything. The one I made about the Karate Kid played at a festival, and afterwards a producer chased me down, told me it was awesome, and that he wanted to turn it into a show for MTV. I was excited so I called my wife and told her. Big mistake. Three days later, the producer called to say legal said no no. Apparently in order to use movie clips you not only have to get the studios permission, but every actor’s in the scene as well. That was the end of that sketch series, and i don’t tell my wife about any potential jobs until I sign a contract.

In any case, if you would like to watch the two that I did make (and see the progression in quality from the first to second) here they are:

WOKE ALLY

WOKE ALLY

Happy Halloween, all! Let’s celebrate with the superhero of our times.

This hero seems to be everywhere nowadays, but especially in places like social media where words count more than deeds and sacrifices. This hero gives up nothing, but calls out everything, and I’m hoping for his nemesis, Reality Man, to come save us soon. Check back each week and there may be a sequel.

Devil’s Due

Devil’s Due

I like Christmas music for about a week, and then I’m happy to see it go. When I go from store to store and the songs seem to be following me I know there has to be something more sinister at work here.

Meanwhile in China

Meanwhile in China

When I hear about China stealing secrets from American companies, I worry. When I hear about China spying on average Americans, I worry…about the Chinese guy who has to watch.

I hope you enjoy!

Then and Now – Kid’s Entertainment

Then and Now – Kid’s Entertainment

Rewatch an 80s kid’s movie and you’ll really get a sense of how it was to grow up without any adult supervision. Lots of cussing, nudity in a few cases, talk of sex and no one at home to tell us that our five-hundredth viewing of a tree eating a kid might not be a scene we should be implanting in our young moldable brains. It was a gloriously sad childhood. Things have changed.

Goodpies

Goodpies

I love pumpkin pie, but this time of year it does seem to muscle out all other pies and give us no choice. Now we know why. Cue the Godfather music. Click here, thenΒ go back and read this.

The Gamma Squad

The Gamma Squad

Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays to all!

No webcomic this week. Instead, here is a look at one of the comics I’ve been working on:

The Gamma Squad is an action adventure comedy about Brian, an alpha male, who dreams of being a lone superspy but instead is offered a position as leader of an elite spy squad of nerds whose abilities far surpass his. Models are going missing and it is up to Brian and his new team to save them before it is too late…if they can figure out how to work together first.

Book one is finished. Two more books to go.

How My Two-Year-Old Views a Visit to the Doctor

How My Two-Year-Old Views a Visit to the Doctor

I grew up poor and remember pretending to be a truck driver, waiter, and a few other jobs that will never make you rich. Now that I’m a dad, no matter what we play my son is Doctor, Lawyer, Astronaut, CEO, President, or Comet Boy (he created that one, and it sounds way more awesome than the others).

Thank you for checking out the webcomic! Don’t forget to subscribe.

Time Thief

Time Thief

If you ever wonder what effect a childhood of ingesting scifi does to the adult brain, I have an example here for you. Sometimes when I’m bummed about things not going my way I imagine that someone has gone back in time and stollen my idea that made me rich and/or famous. Judge away if you must, but we all cope in our own ways.

Thank you as always for checking out this week’s comic. Every Thursday a new one is posted, so do check back, or better yet, subscribe!

Guns Don’t Kill

Guns Don’t Kill

Regardless of how you feel about the 2nd amendment, the whole “Guns don’t kill, people do.” is a silly, silly argument. Here’s my take.

Thank you for reading, and please come back next Thursday for a new post. And if you could, please tell a friend about this site. Have a great week!
